GET TO KNOW OUR STORY
Flo was born and raised in Sacramento, both of her parents live in Elk Grove, Ca. and she is the oldest of three. She loves and adores her two little fur baby Chihuahuas; Peanut and Penny (they’re really not babies, they’re 11 years old). On her weekends, she is a freelance makeup artist and works with an amazing beauty team in Sacramento. Renne is one of the hair stylists Flo works with who she met through a great friend Cesar and developed a close friendship with both.
Angel originally grew up in southern California around his family and friends. He has a very special bond with his nieces and nephews and is always encouraging them to do their best. Angel grew up playing soccer and met a few of his best friends on the team. He is very competitive, strong willed and is always up for a challenge. He is also a diehard Lakers and Dodgers fan.
In 2014 Angel was presented with a growth opportunity within his company which relocated him to Sacramento. During that time it was a difficult transition with no family or friends around, but fortunately he developed great relationships at work… which you will hear as this story progresses.
Renne had a salon in Elk Grove and one day, one of Angel’s coworkers, Enrique, stopped by to get a haircut. Enrique’s wife Carmen use to see Renne for her hair services until he moved his salon to Elk Grove which became too far for her to continue going. During Enrique’s hair appointment with Renne, both gentlemen started to talk about relationships. Enrique mentioned he had a coworker friend who recently moved to Sacramento, a good guy and was single. Renne then mentioned that he had a single friend who was also single. Enrique and Renne had the idea to possibly have them Flo and Angel connect.
At that moment, Enrique texted Angel to have him send a picture of himself so he could show Renne who Angel was. Angel replied back to Enrique and said “No” because they both history of playing pranks on each other. Then Enrique calls Angel and tells him “Hey, I am trying to set you up with a girl. Send me a photo of yourself”. Angel again replied “No. Because knowing you, my face will be on a billboard tomorrow morning”
Renne did not even ask Flo to send pictures; he took the liberty to send photos of her to Enrique from her Facebook account so Enrique could send them off to Angel. Flo did not know this was going on until later that night. Renne sent Flo a brief text letting her know that a guy may reach out to me and explained who it would possibly be. Flo was nonchalant about it and was like “sure, we’ll see what happens”.
The next morning Enrique showed Angel the photos Renne had sent him and told him to send Flo a message on Facebook Messenger to connect. Unfortunately Angel is a procrastinator and he did not send a Facebook message that day.
Two weeks go by… Angel went to visit Enrique and his wife Carmen to have dinner. As they were driving in the car together, Carmen asked “Angel, did you send that message to Flo on Facebook?” Angel’s reply was “No”. Carmen went ahead and told Angel to send the message to Flo now. As Angel started to write the message on Facebook, Carmen asked to see what he was writing to Flo. Carmen then tells Angel the message is not good enough, so she proceeds to delete his original message. She took the liberty to write the message herself pretending to be him and sent it to Flo without Angel approving it.
The following week Carmen and Enrique asked if Angel had received a response from Flo, Angel said no.
Two more weeks go by, Carmen and Enrique ask again if Flo had responded and Angel said “No”. Angel said to them “No worries, it is not a big deal, she is just not interested”.
Flo went to the salon to get her hair touched up by Renne, as he was working on her hair; Renne asked Flo “So did that guy ever message you?” Flo’s response was No. Renne went ahead and texted Carmen to see what happened and why his friend Angel never reached out to Flo. Flo kept telling Renne, “Don’t worry about it, he’s not interested. It is not a big deal”.
Carmen then calls Angel and tells him “Can you screenshot the Facebook message we sent to Flo?” Angel then says “No. why?” Carmen then replies and says Flo is at Renne’s Salon and says she never received your message. Just screenshot the message and send it to me now and she hangs up.
Angel then calls Enrique and tells him “hey I don’t feel comfortable screenshotting this message. If she is not interested, it’s ok; it’s not a big deal. Enrique responded very quietly “hey man, just send her the message” In the background Angel hears Carmen “Why in the hell is he calling you?!?”
Enrique hangs up, Carmen calls Angel back and tells him “just send me the message!!!” Angel then gives in and screenshotted the message and sent it to Carmen.
Once Carmen received the screenshot, she forwarded it to Renne who then showed Flo. Flo was shocked and felt really bad because she never received the private message on Facebook.
Since Flo never received the message, but saw proof it was sent, she reached out to Angel and they exchanged phone numbers. Angel and Flo started to text each other, got to know each other a little. Angel then scheduled a call on the calendar with Flo (which she thought was odd.) The ‘scheduled conference call’ came and they talked for a couple of hours. The conversation went really well, there was a great connection and they setup a date at Mikunis downtown on Thursday, February 12th, 2015. From that moment on they became inseparable.
Destiny is a definitely a funny thing… sometimes we do not understand why things shift in our lives. It is interesting how certain events happen, people we meet along the way, opportunities we take, and you never ever know what twist and turns the future will take you…. #ourstory
